Selling on Grailed: two commission rates and the $120 line

Grailed's 2026 fees: 6% under $120, 9% at $120 and up, processing by Stripe status, and how shipping and the $120 boundary change what you keep.

Example scenario · illustrative, not a real seller

An example jacket listed at $119 keeps $111.86 after Grailed’s 6% commission. At $120 it drops into the 9% rate and keeps $109.20, so the higher price leaves less.

What you’ll get

  • Grailed’s current commission rates.
  • Processing fees by Stripe status.
  • Worked sales with your own label and a Grailed Label.
  • The $120 boundary in numbers.
  • Listing details menswear buyers ask for.

Grailed's commission changed in 2026

Grailed is built for menswear and designer clothing, and many sellers use it for pieces that would get lost on general apps. Its fees changed for sales on or after May 20, 2026. Grailed's fees article, updated May 13, 2026 and checked November 8, 2026, now sets two commission rates depending on the sale price, and it counts buyer-paid shipping in that price unless you use a Grailed label. Payment processing is charged separately.

This guide sets out the current fees and works through when the shipping choice changes what you keep.

Grailed's commission

Sale priceCommission
$120 and above9%
Under $1206%, with a $1.99 minimum

Grailed says the sale price used for commission includes the shipping cost the buyer paid, unless you ship with a Grailed Label.

Payment processing

Grailed's processing fee article lists Stripe fees for US sellers:

Seller typeDomesticInternational
Onboarded with Stripe3.49% + $0.494.99% + $0.49
Not onboarded3.49% + $0.995.49% + $0.99

Completing the payment setup saves 50 cents per domestic sale, and more abroad.

Worked examples

These are chosen examples for a US seller onboarded with Stripe, selling domestically. For simplicity, processing is applied to the total the buyer pays; check your sale summary for the exact base.

A $90 jacket, shipping with your own label at $10. The buyer pays $100, and because you didn't use a Grailed Label, commission is on $100.

LineCalculationAmount
Buyer pays$90 + $10$100.00
Commission6% × $100−$6.00
Processing3.49% × $100 + $0.49−$3.98
After Grailed fees$90.02
Your label−$10.00
Left before item cost$80.02

The same jacket with a Grailed Label. Commission is on the $90 item price only: 6% × $90 = $5.40. That saves $0.60 in commission before any difference in label cost.

A $150 coat. At $120 and above, commission is 9%: $13.50 on the item price if shipped with a Grailed Label.

Watch the $120 boundary

Because the rate jumps from 6% to 9% at $120, prices just above the line can leave you with less than prices just below it. In this chosen example, with a Grailed Label:

Item priceRateCommissionAfter commission
$1156%$6.90$108.10
$1196%$7.14$111.86
$1209%$10.80$109.20
$1259%$11.25$113.75

An item listed at $120 keeps less after commission than one at $119. You need about $123 at 9% to beat $119 at 6%. Keep that in mind when accepting offers near the line, too. And if you ship with your own label, remember buyer-paid shipping counts toward the price, so a $110 item with $15 shipping is a $125 sale for commission.

Step 1: Finish your payment setup

Being onboarded with Stripe moves the fixed processing fee from $0.99 to $0.49 on domestic sales. Do it before your first sale.

Step 2: Decide your label approach

Compare the Grailed Label price with your own label for your typical package. Since your own label adds shipping to the commission base, the Grailed Label can come out ahead even at a similar postage price.

Step 3: Price around the boundary

For items worth roughly $115–$125, decide deliberately which side of $120 to list on. The offer room tool helps set an offer floor that doesn't drift across the line by accident.

Step 4: Describe for a menswear buyer

Grailed buyers ask about measurements, fabric and fit. Give pit-to-pit, length and sleeve for tops, and waist, inseam and leg opening for trousers. The leather jackets guide and the denim guide show category-specific details buyers look for.

Step 5: Check authenticity before listing designer pieces

Designer items attract scrutiny. Use the authenticity before price manual before buying, and photograph labels and hardware clearly when listing.

Common mistakes

  • Using an old commission rate from before May 20, 2026.
  • Forgetting buyer-paid shipping counts toward commission without a Grailed Label.
  • Listing at $120 when $119 would keep more.
  • Skipping Stripe onboarding and paying the higher fixed fee.
  • Leaving out measurements on tailored pieces.

Two rates and a line

Grailed's fees are now 6% under $120 and 9% at or above it, plus processing, with shipping counted unless you use its label. Know which side of the line you're on before you set a price or accept an offer.
